NIT Pride: An Alumnus’ Path to Becoming the Head of a Billion-Dollar Company in India

Mansi Madan Tripathy has been named the new country head of Shell India. She will assume this new position on October 1st, 2023. Shell India is a part of Shell Global, which is a British oil and gas company. Its head office is located in London.

Mansi was born in 1972. After completing her schooling at St. Theresas Convent School, Karnal, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in technology from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra. Following this Mansi Tripathy pursued an MBA in Marketing from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.

To fill in the position, Mansi would shift from Singapore to New Delhi. She will replace Nitin Prasad, the nation’s chair since 2016. Reuters reported earlier this year that the oil behemoth produced a record-breaking USD 40 billion profit in 2022.

In addition to her role as the Vice President, of Shell Lubricants for Asia Pacific, she would serve as the country chair for Shell India. Prior to this, she had been the vice president of Shell Lubricants Asia Pacific.

Shell is a global energy business with proficiency in the production, marketing, and refining of natural gas and oil as well as the manufacturing and distribution of chemicals. The company works to create sustainable energy by utilizing cutting-edge technology and creative thinking. It makes investments in energy, including energy from renewable resources like wind and solar. In addition, it also makes investments in improved biofuels, hydrogen, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
